Here is one of my first posts on tumblr. I remember I posted and within an hour I got four notes and I was ecstatic. I’ve come a long way. I think it deserve a reblog. Enjoy!
Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
Here is one of the forgotten, but yet amazing, songs by The Beatles. Listening to this song reminds of a great line from Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist:
“This is why The Beatles got it… Other bands, it’s about sex. Or pain. Or some fantasy. But The Beatles, they knew what they were doing. You know the reason The Beatles made it so big?… ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’. First single. Fucking brilliant. Perhaps the most fucking brilliant song ever written. Because they nailed it. That’s what everyone wants. Not 24/7 hot wet sex. Not a marriage that lasts a hundred years. Not a Porsche or a million-dollar crib. No. They wanna hold your hand. They have such a feeling that they can’t hide. Every single successful song of the past fifty years can be traced back to ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand.’ And every single successful love story has those unbearable and unbearably exciting moments of hand-holding. Trust me. I’ve thought a lot about this.”
I think the Beatles truly did understand love, and by love I don’t mean a grand romantic gesture that only comes from the fantasy world of cinema, but more of the simplicity of love. The simple little things that make love so much sweeter. Such as that simple smile that brightens the day or simply holding each others hands. The Beatles did truly grasp the idea of love in its most sincere form. They were right “All you need is love, love, love is all you need.”

AMITY (1933) by Bernard Fleetwood-Walker (1893-1965)
Two teenage friends are enjoying a summer picnic. The country setting suggests the innocence of youth but their intense gaze and the girl’s provocative pose hint at their sexual awakening. Although the title means friendship the artist’s wife recalled that the two models, Jeffrey and Nella, would barely talk to each other.
This is adorable.
“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”
